Brussels Sprouts are not my favourite vegetable by any means. Sometimes if they are roasted & seasoned with maple syrup….haha….I can eat them! But I do like them raw in this salad. I posted this recipe last year….
I love pasta salad, but the problem is sometimes I find that the pasta is quite tasteless & worse for me is if it is undercooked…or overcooked I suppose! I realize I don’t love the vegetables in there either…I am not being critical of other peoples pasta salads…I just wanted to make mine a bit different…
I was visiting Murray’s aunt a few months ago & went through her recipes! This bean salad recipe is most likely from the 70’s she said! Written on a scrap of paper…I do not know where she got the recipe from.
I posted this recipe in March 2017. I think I will add some raspberries to this salad…I am going to buy a bag of frozen raspberries & toss some into this salad. To make this a dinner salad, you can add some cooked chicken or fish to this! I think this is what we are…

I like to leave the avocado as chunky as possible for this avocado & tomato salad..if you mash it up then it is like guacamole…

This recipe is adapted from one my mother-in-law makes. I have cut down the sugar & some of the spices… My MIL always had coleslaw in the fridge whenever we went there to visit! Everyone ate coleslaw at least once a day!!
An old favourite salad recipe that I forget about! With all of the new recipes I look at everyday & the new ‘trendy’ way to eat vegetables…kale, shaved brussels sprouts… it is nice to turn back & re-visit some past favs
What a delicious idea! This orzo salad is like a deconstructed California roll! It can be eaten warm or cold & makes a good side dish or a stand-alone dish as well…I liked it the next day for dinner. I made this when we had company over for & everyone really enjoyed it.
Fresh corn cut off the cob, fresh crisp tomatoes, mint & feta! This corn salad is delicious with just olive oil & salt & pepper to dress it. A perfect accompaniment to anything really.
I don’t know if you have ever eaten Halloumi cheese but I love it. This cheese is having ‘a day’, showing up on menus in restaurants & it is available in most major grocery stores….in my city of Edmonton anyway.
