Canned Tuna with Curry

Canned Tuna with Curry is delicious! I grew up eating tuna sandwiches on white bread with some Old Dutch plain potato chips. Absolute comfort food for me. Don’t get me wrong, I still love a simple tuna salad. Sometimes if my mom was getting fancy she would dice up some Celery to add to the tuna & that was good too. But…Canned Tuna with Curry is fantastic & you may never go back to plain mayo again!

The recipe was given to me by my friend Sharon z”l. & she got the recipe on the website AllRecipes. It is called Barbie’s Tuna Salad & has an addition of Parmesan cheese but I have not added that

It is simple to make & you may just have all the ingredients for it in your pantry & fridge all ready…if not they are easy to find.

This Canned Tuna with Curry is easily  made for more people…I had 3 hungry men & my mother-in-law for lunch  so I tripled the recipe!

I served this with a salad on the side, but I have eaten it in a sandwich as well…. on some delicious bread… & it was great!!Take a piece of delicious bread, toast it then spread with a bit of mayo… a sliced tomato & some greens work well here then top with the tuna!  Even simpler is having this yummy Canned Tuna with Curry on crackers!

Here is the recipe *** adapted from Barbies Tuna Salad from All Recipes

Ingredients

1 can of tuna

3 Tbsp mayonnaise

3 tbsp sweet green relish *** I didn’t have any but had some gherkins in the fridge so I just put them in the food processor & kind of made my own relish!

1/8 tsp dried onion flakes

1/2 tsp curry powder  *** the original recipe calls for 1/4 tsp curry powder but I like it with more of a curry taste…

1 Tbsp dried parsley

1 tsp dried dill weed *** I used the dill weed spice..not fresh

1 pinch of garlic powder

Method

  1. Drain the tuna so that all of the liquid is removed & put the tuna into a bowl
  2. Add all of the remaining ingredietns & mix well
  3. That is it!!!!!

Enjoy!!

Many people ask me "how did you do that?" "will you show me how?' So I decided to make a blog about what I cook and bake. I am in no way a professional cook, but I love to feed people and try new things as well as making the "old foods" My friends are wonderful cooks, each with their own 'specialty' and i will be having guest cooks here, showcasing their favourite things to cook as well!! I hope you enjoy this blog and maybe decide to make some of these foods yourself! I am always available to answer any questions you might have about anything you see here. Some of my recipes are unique to me but most are not. They are all recipes I have found in a variety of ways, some are old family recipes that date back decades and some are new ones!
