Here is a video of Mrs. Shapiro, she is in her 90’s, making blinttzes for Passover. Even if you never want to make Passover Blintzes the video is so sweet to watch! & you can always use the blintzes any time of year.
We did not fill them at her house so I took them home & filled them with sautéed vegetables for Jacki to take back home with her…she is here visiting for a few days. I love it when Mrs. Shapiro teaches me things! It isn’t just about the recipe, it is about her. She is so great, a good teacher of food & life.
The recipe for Passover Blintzes is
4 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp oil
1 heaping soup spoon of potato starch
1 heaping soup spoon of cake meal
Watch the video for the exact method!!!
The video is on You Tube, it would not load on Word Press so I have to figure that out!!
Many people ask me "how did you do that?" "will you show me how?' So I decided to make a blog about what I cook and bake. I am in no way a professional cook, but I love to feed people and try new things as well as making the "old foods"
My friends are wonderful cooks, each with their own 'specialty' and i will be having guest cooks here, showcasing their favourite things to cook as well!!
I hope you enjoy this blog and maybe decide to make some of these foods yourself! I am always available to answer any questions you might have about anything you see here. Some of my recipes are unique to me but most are not. They are all recipes I have found in a variety of ways, some are old family recipes that date back decades and some are new ones!
