I love chocolate chip cookies… especially when they are warm & the chocolate chips are soft…
I also like my chocolate chip cookies flat & chewy but my family likes them soft & slightly doomed. Martha Stewart.com has information on how to make chocolate chip cookies in 3 different ways…by adding slightly different amounts of ingredients. Here is a link to a video about this…how to make chocolate chip cookies either soft & chewy, thin & crisp or cakes. It is a really good resource…
Here is the recipe from MarhtaStewart.com that I love to make
Ingredients
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup butter, unsalted, room temperature
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp salt ..if you are using salted butter, I leave this out
1 tsp vanilla
2 large eggs
2 cups chocolate chips
Method
Preheat oven to 350f Line baking sheets with parchment paper
- Mix the flour & baking soda together & set aside
- In a mixer mix the butter, white sugar & brown sugar together until well combined
- Add the salt, vanilla & the 2 eggs. Mix well, scrape down the sides of the bowl occasionally to make sure all of the ingredients are mixed well
- Now, add the flour & mix
- Add the chocolate chips…its best to remove the bowl from the mixer & stir the chips in by hand
- Use a tbsp cookie scoop if you have or just use a heaping tablespoon of dough & put onto the prepared baking sheets
- Bake the cookies for about 8 -10 minutes until the edges are golden brown
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes to firm up…then remove them & let the cookies cool completely on wire racks
Enjoy!
