I took a bit of a break from this blog

But I am back! This post is a collection of recipes from Murray’s mom… some FAMILY RECIPES that we all love!

I want to re-post some of my mother-in-law’s recipes. They are all great & if you give them a try I am sure you will like them as much as we do! I realize I have many more of her recipes that I have not posted here so I will have to rectify that soon! These recipes are some of the dishes Zelda would make when we came to visit Murray’s parents in the summer with our kids.

Every morning we would wake up & Zelda would be standing in her bathrobe making these Pancakes to order so everyone would have a fresh one! She fried them in a bit of oil so they were crispyish on the outside, tender & fluffy inside. If the kids slept in too late there was always batter by the stove so we could make the kids their pancakes!

The Varenkis were always in demand. Sometimes they were already made in the freezer so we could just cook them. There were usually served boiled tossed in butter or parve ( vegan) margarine

Zeldas Oatmeal Cookies are Murrays fav. Not too sweet, cake-like domed cookies studded with raisins. These were always in a tin on the counter so we wanted a great cookies these were always available.

Oven BBQ Chicken was cooked often in the Glick household. Quick to put together it just goes in the oven without any fuss. Served with rice or mashed potatoes it was an easy dish to make in a busy house.

The Kobe Marinade was a regular on the dinner schedule as well! Chicken pieces were marinated & then grilled. So delicious & always devoured

Many people ask me "how did you do that?" "will you show me how?' So I decided to make a blog about what I cook and bake. I am in no way a professional cook, but I love to feed people and try new things as well as making the "old foods" My friends are wonderful cooks, each with their own 'specialty' and i will be having guest cooks here, showcasing their favourite things to cook as well!! I hope you enjoy this blog and maybe decide to make some of these foods yourself! I am always available to answer any questions you might have about anything you see here. Some of my recipes are unique to me but most are not. They are all recipes I have found in a variety of ways, some are old family recipes that date back decades and some are new ones!
