Quick & Easy Meatballs in the Instant Pot

Using the Instant Pot to make these Quick & Easy Meatballs is the best thing! Usually I make meatballs by sautéing them or baking them in the oven before adding them to the spaghetti sauce. This recipe does not require any of that!

I had some left-over store-bought spaghetti sauce in the fridge & 1 lb of ground beef, so what to do? Combine them…meatballs in spaghetti sauce. And to make it pretty easy & and quick, making this in my Instant Pot seemed like a great idea! The Instant Pot is great because one dent not have to pay much attention to it once the meal is cooking.

My favourite store bought  spaghetti sauce is Perego..the original one but I am sure there are many good store bought sauces out there…so you can use what ever you want!

Here is the recipe

This recipe makes approx 20 meatballs … 2 tbsp size

Ingredients

1 lb hamburger

1 egg, beaten

1 tsp garlic powder

1/4 cup bread crumbs

1  tbsp dried minced onion

2 cups store-bought spaghetti sauce…. I like Perego

1/2 cup water

Method

  1. Mix the hamburger with the egg, garlic powder, minced onion & bread crumbs   Set aside
  2. Put the spaghetti sauce & water into the Instant Pot & stir it to combine
  3. Make meatballs, mine were small, the size of maybe 2 tbsp scoop….
  4. Put the meatballs in a single layer into the sauce in the Pot
  5. Close the lid as per manufacturers instructions…
  6. Turn the Instant Pot on manual, high pressure, 15 minutes
  7. When it is done, use the Natural Pressure Release for 20 minutes then release if it isn’t fully released. Be careful opening the lid….so it according to manufactures instructions…
  8. And there you go… done

I served these as a side dish but you can put this over spaghettie,…rice  etc

Note: the meatballs were soft…some of them fell apart..if that is going to bother you, you can brown them first in a skillet & then add them to the sauce. Also, one of them kind of browned a lot on the bottom, didn’t burn but close….it was ok though & it was not burnt to the bottom of the pot

Many people ask me "how did you do that?" "will you show me how?' So I decided to make a blog about what I cook and bake. I am in no way a professional cook, but I love to feed people and try new things as well as making the "old foods" My friends are wonderful cooks, each with their own 'specialty' and i will be having guest cooks here, showcasing their favourite things to cook as well!! I hope you enjoy this blog and maybe decide to make some of these foods yourself! I am always available to answer any questions you might have about anything you see here. Some of my recipes are unique to me but most are not. They are all recipes I have found in a variety of ways, some are old family recipes that date back decades and some are new ones!
