Strawberry Sauce

This strawberry sauce is so easy to make! It is great on cheesecake or over ice-cream.

You can use frozen strawberries or fresh for this simple fruit sauce.

I have used frozen strawberries this time. It is quick & really only takes a few minutes to make. Let this cool before serving over whatever you want to eat with this sweet wonderful strawberry sauce!

Here is the recipe

Ingredients

4 cups strawberries, I used frozen…if you are using fresh, clean them cut the tops off & cut the strawberries in half

1/2 cup sugar

2 tsp lemon juice

Method

  1. Put the strawberries, sugar & lemon juice into a saucepan.
  2. Mix well
  3. Cook them over medium heat  until the strawberries are soft & have released their juice. Stir often
  4. Bring to a boil
  5.  Cook until this becomes a bit thick. about 10 minutes
  6. You can mash some of the strawberries if you want & leave some in pieces..
  7. This sauce does not get glossy & thick…it just gets kind of thick… which is how we like it
  8. Let cool & serve with cheesecake or ice cream!

Enjoy!

Many people ask me "how did you do that?" "will you show me how?' So I decided to make a blog about what I cook and bake. I am in no way a professional cook, but I love to feed people and try new things as well as making the "old foods" My friends are wonderful cooks, each with their own 'specialty' and i will be having guest cooks here, showcasing their favourite things to cook as well!! I hope you enjoy this blog and maybe decide to make some of these foods yourself! I am always available to answer any questions you might have about anything you see here. Some of my recipes are unique to me but most are not. They are all recipes I have found in a variety of ways, some are old family recipes that date back decades and some are new ones!
