Canned tuna with Curry

This is delicious! I grew up eating tuna sandwiches on white bread with some Old Dutch plain potato chips. Absolute comfort food for me. Don’t get me wrong, I still love this. And…. the tuna doesn’t have anything added to it…just Kraft Mayonnaise.. BUT….. this tuna with curry is fantastic!

The recipe was given to me by my friend Sharon & she got the recipe on AllRecipes. I t is called Barbie’s Tuna Salad & has an addition of parmesean cheese but I have not added that

It is simple to make & you may just have all the ingredients for it in your pantry & fridge all ready…if not they are easy to find. It is easy to make more than the recipe calls for…I had 3 hungry men & my mother-in-law for lunch  so I tripled the recipe….easy

I served this with a salad on the side, but I have eaten it in a sandwich as well…. on some delicious bread…

Here is the recipe *** adapted from Barbies Tuna Salad from All Recipes

Ingredients

1 can of tuna

3 Tbsp mayonnaise

3 tbsp sweet green relish *** I didn’t have any but had some gherkins in the fridge so I just put them in the food processor & kind of made my own relish!

1/8 tsp dried onion flakes

1/2 tsp curry powder  *** the original recipe calls for 1/4 tsp curry powder but I like it with more of a curry taste…

1 Tbsp dried parsley

1 tsp dried dill weed *** I used the dill weed spice..not fresh

1 pinch of garlic powder

Method

  1. Drain the tuna so that all of the liquid is removed & put the tuna into a bowl
  2. Add all of the remaining ingredietns & mix well
  3. That is it!!!!!

Enjoy!!

Many people ask me "how did you do that?" "will you show me how?' So I decided to make a blog about what I cook and bake. I am in no way a professional cook, but I love to feed people and try new things as well as making the "old foods" My friends are wonderful cooks, each with their own 'specialty' and i will be having guest cooks here, showcasing their favourite things to cook as well!! I hope you enjoy this blog and maybe decide to make some of these foods yourself! I am always available to answer any questions you might have about anything you see here. Some of my recipes are unique to me but most are not. They are all recipes I have found in a variety of ways, some are old family recipes that date back decades and some are new ones!
