Visiting our aunt and uncle in Toronto we needed a place to go for lunch. Luckily the restaurant that they wanted to go to was closed so we went to Cafe Landwer. The restaurant was full but luckily we didn’t have to wait too long to get a table. Looking around at what everyone else was eating helped us make decisions about what to order. Our aunt & uncle each ordered the pancakes. Murray ordered the Mediterranean Shashuka & I ordered the Shashuka with Halloumi cheese and for the table some eggplant with tahini. The pancakes came a bowl of mixed berries, maple syrup, Nutella & whipped cream. The Shashuka each came with a salad and some bread. And the desserts…..The meals were all delicious. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Too bad Cafe Landwer is far away from where I stay on Toronto but I will make an effort to go again!
